Flying time: 8 hours 45 minutes (direct to Barbados from London Gatwick) plus onwards charter

Transfer details: 45 minute shared charter flight from Barbados to Union Island, followed by a 10 min

The Eastern Caribbean dollar (EC$) is the legal currency and is tied to the US dollar at $2.68.ute boat ride.

Climate in St Vincent

Tropical, with trade winds tempering the hottest months, June and July.

Required Clothing: Lightweights and waterproofs.

Business hours

Normal banking hours are Monday through Thursday from 8.OOam-1.OO pm, although some banks remain open until 3.OOpm. On Fridays, most banks re-open from 3.OOpm-5.OOpm.

Hours are generally extended during Christmas, Easter, and Carnival, and may be affected by local holidays.

ATM machines are available at Scotiabank, National Commercial Bank, First Caribbean International Bank and RBTT Bank.

Traveller’s cheques and foreign currencies can be exchanged with ease.

Cost Of Living

The taxis are extremely cheap and reliable and you can easily rent a taxi a whole day. This is because the price of petrol is extremely low, about $0.05/litre!

Do not rent car because taxi or Por Puesto would surely be considered as a better option. The two reasons to not rent car is:

1. The first one is because it is expensive.
2. The second is because it is also a very lengthy procedure
